Destination information - FranceLes Deux Alpes is a ski resort in the French Isère département. It has the largest skiable glacier in Europe and is France's second oldest ski resort behind Chamonix. It is a 71 km (44 mile) drive southeast of Grenoble. Alpe d'Huez is also known as a freeskiing
venue. The site of the Pomagalski's first
surface lift in the early sixties, the resort
grew in an organic manner, gaining popularity
when it hosted the bobsleigh events of the 1968
Winter Olympics. |
