Destination information - AndorraAndorra is an independent principality nestled in the Eastern Pyrenees between France and Spain, just 468 kilometres square, but packed with superb skiing, low price shopping and lively nightlife. The resort of Arinsal-Pal is a great choice for beginners and intermediates, with plenty of terrain for learning and improving. Pas de la Casa-Grau Roig and Soldeu-El Tarter are perfect for intermediates, with high-altitude sunny, well maintained pistes. The area of Soldeu-El Tarter has been extended this year to encompass the area above the neighbouring town of Canillo, adding a further 10 kilometres of piste. Wherever you choose to go in Andorra, you'll find plenty of excellent, low-cost après-ski fun, in no small part due to the Duty Free status of the country. Bars, clubs and restaurants abound and you'll have no problem making friends as just about everyone's in the party mood and speaks English. Duty Free shopping is a major pastime here, especially in the capital, Andorra La Vella, where you'll be completely spoilt for choice.
